Ashley Biden Denounces “Fake News” Claims
Ashley Biden defends her father against claims of mental decline, calling recent reports disrespectful and untrue.
Ashley Biden Pushes Back Against Allegations in 'Original Sin'
Ashley Biden, daughter of former U.S. President Joe Biden, strongly criticized recent claims about her father’s mental acuity, dismissing them as “DAMN disrespectful and untrue.” Her remarks, shared on Instagram Monday, targeted what she described as “fake news” narratives painting her father as mentally unfit during his time in office.
Posting a photo of herself with her parents on a beach, Ashley Biden wrote, “The ONLY coverup of this family is a BEACH coverup,” in a direct swipe at assertions made in the recently released book, *Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again*, by Axios reporter Alex Thompson and CNN’s Jake Tapper. Though she did not mention the book or authors by name, she made clear her disapproval of the content and its implications.
“He aged, YES! As we all do! And the stress of the presidency accelerates. But he was always MORE than capable of doing the job. And a damn good one,” she wrote, describing her father as someone who took his presidential duties seriously and worked harder than anyone she had ever known.
Ashley condemned the book’s reliance on unnamed sources, asserting that its narrative was driven by individuals committed to “perpetuating and profiting from some real BS.” She added, “Get lost with your anonymous sources and fake news.”
Her comments follow weeks of speculation about Biden’s health, especially after the public revelation of his prostate cancer diagnosis. She expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support the Biden family received in the aftermath.
Naomi Biden Also Rebukes the Book
Ashley Biden’s post echoed earlier remarks by Naomi Biden, daughter of Hunter Biden and granddaughter of the former president. In a social media post, Naomi directly criticized the book *Original Sin*, labeling it “political fairy smut.”
“Just read a copy of this silly book,” she wrote, “and if anyone is curious for a review from someone who lived it first-hand: this book is political fairy smut for the permanent, professional chattering class.” She accused the authors of crafting a “self-serving false narrative” based on anonymous sources and suggested the book was written by “irresponsible self-promoting journalists out to make a quick buck.”
The book alleges that during his time in office, President Biden’s aides sought to obscure signs of his mental and physical decline. The Biden family has consistently rejected these claims, framing them as politically motivated and devoid of factual integrity.
As the 2028 election season approaches, scrutiny of Biden’s past presidency remains high, but family members continue to stand firmly in his defense. Ashley Biden’s statement represents a broader pushback against narratives they argue distort the reality of his time in office.
