Iran Condemns US Yemen Strike

Iran has strongly condemned the United States for a recent military strike in Yemen’s Saada region, labeling the action a “war crime.” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei issued a statement on Monday criticizing what he described as continued American attacks on civilian areas, key infrastructure, and residential homes across Yemen.

Baghaei stated that the U.S. operations had resulted in the deaths of hundreds of innocent people and represented a clear breach of international law. He further accused the United Nations and human rights institutions of showing “silence and indifference” toward what he called blatant violations of Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The condemnation follows claims by Yemen’s Houthi militant group that the latest U.S. strike targeted a prison housing African migrants. According to the Houthis, at least 68 people were killed in the incident, further fueling tensions in the conflict-ridden region.

In a parallel move, the United States recently announced expanded sanctions targeting the Houthi rebels. The measures aim to weaken the Iran-backed group’s capacity to operate militarily and economically. In response, the Houthis vowed to continue attacking American naval assets, specifically aircraft carriers and other warships operating in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea.

The latest developments signal an escalation in the regional standoff, with Iran positioning itself firmly against U.S. actions in Yemen, and the Houthis threatening direct retaliation against U.S. military presence in strategic waters. As diplomatic efforts remain stalled, tensions between Washington, Tehran, and Houthi forces continue to rise.
