The Israeli government has approved the resumption of humanitarian aid to Gaza through the newly established United States-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). This decision ends a two-month pause in aid deliveries and aims to address urgent humanitarian needs in the region.

GHF Executive Director Jake Wood announced that the foundation would commence operations in the Gaza Strip before the end of the month. Wood emphasized that the organization has reached agreements with Israeli officials to facilitate the flow of transitional aid using existing distribution mechanisms while GHF completes the construction of its Secure Distribution Sites (SDS).

"There is no time to wait for ideal conditions. We have a responsibility to act and to do it without compromising our values," Wood stated, underscoring the urgency of delivering aid to affected populations.

The GHF also addressed concerns regarding potential displacement of Palestinians amid military operations. The foundation clarified that any displacement should be "temporary, voluntary, and solely for the protection of the civilian population," reinforcing its commitment to humanitarian principles.

The renewed aid effort reflects a coordinated approach between Israel and the US-backed organization to ensure immediate relief while long-term infrastructure is developed to support Gaza’s civilian population.
