Senate Probes Biden Cognitive Cover-Up

Senate Republicans plan June 18 hearing into claims Biden's decline was hidden by aides and family during his presidency.

Congressional Scrutiny Over Biden’s Health Intensifies

Senate Republicans have announced a full committee hearing scheduled for June 18 to investigate allegations that former President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline was deliberately concealed. The hearing, organized by Senators Eric Schmitt of Missouri and John Cornyn of Texas, marks the first formal congressional inquiry into what they describe as a “conspiracy” by Biden’s aides, family, and media allies.

According to the senators, evidence suggests that Biden’s inner circle acted as the de facto executive leadership while he was mentally sidelined. “It’s time to expose how a cadre of Biden aides and family members were the de facto commander in chief,” said Schmitt. He emphasized that the American public deserves transparency regarding presidential fitness during Biden’s term in office.

Cornyn echoed these concerns, asserting that “the country depends on having a president who has the mental capacity to do the job.” He accused the former president’s inner circle and media of a coordinated effort to mislead the public and undermine constitutional responsibilities vested solely in the president.

Witness selection for the hearing is ongoing. Schmitt and Cornyn claim the concealment spanned “years,” and they intend to identify all involved in the alleged effort to maintain an image of cognitive stability.

House Pushes for Parallel Investigation

Meanwhile, House Republicans are also pursuing an investigation. Representative Buddy Carter of Georgia introduced legislation to establish a select committee tasked with uncovering any effort to obscure Biden’s health condition from the public. The legislation cites concerns about a “potential concealment of information” regarding the president’s ability to perform his duties.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has also taken steps to secure testimony from key Biden administration staff. Among those called for transcribed interviews are Neera Tanden, Annie Tomasini, Anthony Bernal, Ashley Williams, and Dr. Kevin O’Connor—Biden’s personal physician.

These developments follow revelations contained in the book “Original Sin,” co-authored by CNN host Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson. The book alleges that the Biden White House actively sought to shape public perception of the president’s health, with insiders reportedly participating in efforts to suppress signs of decline.

As the Senate and House investigations unfold, the controversy is expected to intensify political debate around transparency, executive capacity, and the mechanisms available to address presidential fitness. Republicans leading the charge insist that restoring public trust requires full disclosure of what transpired behind closed doors during Biden’s presidency.
