Trump Endorses Hamadeh for Reelection in Arizona
President Trump endorses Rep. Abe Hamadeh for reelection, praising him as an “America First Patriot” early in his House tenure.
Trump’s Early Endorsement Bolsters Freshman Lawmaker
President Donald Trump has given a strong endorsement to Representative Abe Hamadeh, R-Ariz., backing the congressman for reelection less than six months into his first term in the House of Representatives. The president made the announcement in a Truth Social post, lauding Hamadeh as “an America First Patriot” and assuring voters that Hamadeh “will never let you down.”
Trump’s support for Hamadeh began even before the 2024 GOP U.S. House primary in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District, with an endorsement in December 2023. Unusually, Trump also issued a dual endorsement of both Hamadeh and GOP primary candidate Blake Masters just ahead of the election, a contest that Hamadeh ultimately won. Trump’s renewed endorsement is seen as a significant boost for Hamadeh’s reelection bid, reflecting the president’s ongoing influence within the Republican Party.
Hamadeh Pushes Resolution on Flag Displays in Congress
Since joining Congress, Hamadeh has moved to shape policy, introducing a resolution in February to limit the types of flags displayed in House facilities. The proposal, while not affecting personal office spaces, would ensure that only certain flags, including the American flag, state flags, and the flags of visiting foreign dignitaries during official visits, are permitted in shared congressional spaces. “Congress is supposed to embody the AMERICAN people. That’s why I’ve introduced a resolution to ban foreign and ideological flags in the Halls of Congress,” Hamadeh stated. “It’s pathetic that I even have to introduce this resolution.”
Six other House Republicans have signed on as cosponsors, supporting Hamadeh’s push to restrict ideological symbols in official settings. The measure underscores ongoing debates within Congress over representation and the appropriate symbols for public institutions.
Hamadeh, in a recent letter to President Trump marking his 79th birthday and the Army’s 250th anniversary, thanked Trump for his leadership and inspiration, stating, “You have inspired me and so many other young men and women to fearlessly serve our country in our nation's Armed Services and the halls of Congress.”
With Trump’s early endorsement and an active legislative agenda, Hamadeh is positioned as a rising figure in the GOP, advancing “America First” priorities while cementing support from party leadership.
