Trump Slams ABC, Claims Catholic Vote Win

United States President Donald Trump criticized ABC News journalist Martha Raddatz on Monday after she commented that Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost's election as Pope Leo XIV had no connection to Trump. Taking to Truth Social, Trump responded sharply, stating, “It came out of nowhere, but it was on her Trump Deranged Mind. Remember, I did WIN the Catholic Vote, by a lot!”

Trump’s post emphasized his assertion of strong support among Catholic voters, a point he has frequently reiterated in public statements and campaign rhetoric. His remarks underscored ongoing frustrations with mainstream media coverage, particularly what he perceives as biased reporting against him.

In the same post, Trump directed his criticism at The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger, who oversees ABC News. “Bob Iger should do something about the losers and haters he's got on his low rated shows,” Trump wrote, taking aim at the network's viewership and content.

The comments are part of Trump's broader strategy of challenging media narratives and reinforcing his electoral achievements. His reference to the Catholic vote reflects a continued focus on solidifying his support among religious constituencies ahead of future political contests.

Trump’s reaction follows a pattern of direct engagement with media figures and corporate leaders via social media, where he often counters critical coverage with his own messaging. The dispute with ABC News and Disney further illustrates the contentious relationship between Trump and major media outlets.

While ABC News has not officially responded to Trump's statements, the exchange adds to the ongoing friction between the Trump administration and mainstream news organizations. The debate also highlights the sensitivity surrounding media influence and voter perceptions in the current political landscape.
