Trump Surges After Tax Bill, Supreme Court, Iran, Lawsuit Wins

Trump celebrates landmark tax bill, Supreme Court win, Iran strikes, and lawsuit settlement in an unprecedented two weeks.

Trump Administration Caps Unmatched Series of Policy Wins

President Donald Trump is riding a wave of historic momentum following a succession of major victories for his administration. On Friday, Trump signed his $3.3 trillion “big, beautiful bill” into law—delivering on a series of legislative, legal, and diplomatic achievements that have reshaped his second-term agenda.

The newly enacted bill, passed just in time for Trump’s self-imposed July Fourth deadline, permanently locks in individual and business tax breaks first introduced in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. New deductions eliminate federal taxes on tips and overtime pay, while raising the national debt ceiling by $5 trillion—a move that drew scrutiny from business leaders such as Elon Musk. The measure also rolls back Biden-era green energy tax credits, allocates $350 billion for defense, and funds Trump’s mass deportation efforts.

Key reforms in the bill include stricter Medicaid and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) work requirements, requiring recipients to work at least 80 hours per month or participate in job training, school, or community service to maintain eligibility.

Supreme Court and Military Victories Bolster Agenda

The bill’s passage follows a series of administration wins. On June 21, U.S. forces conducted extensive airstrikes on key Iranian nuclear facilities, involving over 125 aircraft. According to General Dan Caine, initial reports indicated the sites were “completely and totally obliterated.” While some intelligence leaks questioned the extent of the damage, the Pentagon reported the strikes set back Iran’s nuclear program by one to two years.

Trump’s string of successes continued on June 27, when the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 to limit lower courts’ power to issue nationwide injunctions, a move aimed at ending legal blocks on executive orders such as Trump’s birthright citizenship ban. The decision, Trump argued, prevents “colossal abuse of power” by a handful of judges and restores the executive branch’s rightful authority. “We’ve seen a handful of radical left judges effectively try to overrule the rightful powers of the president to stop the American people from getting the policies that they voted for in record numbers,” Trump said.

Lawsuit Settlement Marks Media Win

Adding to the administration’s momentum, CBS News’ parent company, Paramount Global, agreed to a $16 million settlement stemming from a lawsuit filed by Trump over the editing of a “60 Minutes” interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump’s legal team claimed the segment misrepresented key answers regarding U.S.-Israel policy. Under the settlement, the funds will support Trump’s future presidential library and cover plaintiffs’ costs; Paramount will not issue an apology.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt called the last two weeks “the most historic two weeks of any Administration in history,” asserting, “America is back and is the hottest country in the world.” The administration now turns to the implementation of its sweeping tax and immigration reforms as the 2026 midterm campaign season looms.

With legislative, legal, and diplomatic momentum, President Trump’s White House is poised to press ahead with its second-term agenda, reshaping domestic policy, global relations, and the political landscape in the months ahead.
