The United States Department of State has approved a potential $1.4 billion arms sale to the United Arab Emirates, encompassing CH-47F Chinook helicopters and F-16 parts and support services. The announcement precedes US President Donald Trump's upcoming visit to the UAE later this week, signaling strengthened defense ties between the two nations.

The approved sale includes $1.3 billion allocated for the procurement of CH-47F Chinook helicopters, known for their heavy-lift capabilities, and an additional $130 million dedicated to the sustainment and support of the UAE's existing fleet of F-16 fighter jets.

According to the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency, the principal contractors for the Chinook helicopter deal will be Boeing Helicopter Aircraft Company and Honeywell Engine Company, two leading American defense manufacturers.
