US, EU to Boost Trade Negotiations
European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maros Sefcovic announced on Thursday that the European Union and the United States have agreed to intensify their trade talks. The announcement came ahead of the EU trade ministers' meeting in Brussels.
Sefcovic stated he had spoken with US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick the previous day, where both parties agreed to 'intensify engagement at a technical level.' He added that they will meet again soon, either in Brussels or at the upcoming OECD meetings in Poland later this month.
This renewed push for dialogue follows recent sharp remarks made by US President Donald Trump regarding the European Union, highlighting the need for reinforced cooperation.
The commitment to deepen trade discussions signifies a joint effort to address ongoing economic issues and strengthen transatlantic relations through focused and pragmatic engagement.
