US Nearing 24 Trade Deals, Swiss Next in Line

The United States is on the verge of finalizing 24 new trade agreements, National Economic Council (NEC) Director Kevin Hassett announced on Friday. Speaking to CNBC, Hassett confirmed that these deals are expected to conclude in the coming weeks. He described the recent agreement with the United Kingdom as a foundational "framework" and emphasized that the new regulations will not disrupt markets, instead providing significant benefits for American farmers.

President Donald Trump reinforced this progress on Truth Social, writing, "Many Trade Deals in the hopper, all good (GREAT!) ones!" His remarks underscore the administration’s commitment to expanding international trade partnerships that deliver favorable terms for the United States.

Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter, who also serves as Switzerland’s finance minister, expressed her country’s readiness to establish a customs agreement with the United States. Following meetings with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer in Geneva, Keller-Sutter told reporters, "We hope that we will be the next country with which the United States can reach an agreement." She confirmed that Switzerland is being prioritized and is receiving expedited attention in trade discussions.

These developments highlight a period of strong momentum in US trade policy, with a focus on securing new bilateral agreements that reinforce economic ties and open new markets for American goods. Observers are watching closely as the administration moves swiftly to implement its ambitious trade agenda.
