Trump Backs India-Pakistan Ceasefire Deal

United States President Donald Trump praised the governments of India and Pakistan for reaching an agreement on a full and immediate ceasefire. In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump expressed pride in the leaders of both nations for demonstrating what he described as strong, wise, and powerful leadership at a critical moment of heightened tensions.

Trump applauded the decision to halt hostilities, emphasizing the potential lives and resources that would have been lost had the aggression continued. “I am proud of the strong and unwaveringly powerful leadership of India and Pakistan for having the strength, wisdom, and fortitude to fully know and understand that it was time to stop the current aggression that could have led to the death and destruction of so many, and so much,” he wrote.

He also noted the United States’ role in supporting the agreement, saying he was proud “the USA was able to help you arrive at this historic and heroic decision.” Though the topic was “not even discussed” during talks, Trump additionally stated he intends to increase trade “substantially” with both countries as a gesture of goodwill.

Looking ahead, President Trump also pledged U.S. support in facilitating a resolution to the long-standing Kashmir issue, offering to assist both India and Pakistan in seeking a peaceful and mutually beneficial outcome.

The ceasefire announcement marks a significant step toward regional stability, with Washington positioning itself as a key diplomatic player in maintaining peace and expanding economic ties in South Asia.
