Trump, UK Finalize Full Trade Deal

United States President Donald Trump confirmed on Thursday that a “full and comprehensive” trade deal has been successfully finalized with the United Kingdom. The announcement, which followed reports and speculation earlier in the week, was delivered via Trump’s Truth Social account. He hailed the agreement as the first of several upcoming major international deals.

“This should be a very big and exciting day for the United States of America and the United Kingdom,” Trump wrote, adding that the deal will “cement the relationship” between Washington and London. The president also confirmed a press conference at the Oval Office at 10 a.m. local time to formally present the agreement’s highlights and strategic benefits. He described it as a “great honor” to have the UK as the first partner in this new wave of trade initiatives and noted that many additional deals are in advanced stages of negotiation.

Earlier in the day, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s office announced that he would provide an official update on the status of the trade negotiations with the US. A Downing Street spokesperson emphasized that Starmer is focused on securing outcomes that serve Britain’s national interest, supporting workers, businesses, and families alike. The spokesperson also underlined the United States’ role as an indispensable ally in both economic and national security matters, with negotiations progressing at a fast pace.

The finalized trade pact marks a significant milestone in US-UK relations, signaling stronger bilateral cooperation and paving the way for future agreements that aim to enhance economic growth and security for both nations.
