Trump: WWII Unwinnable Without US
United States President Donald Trump asserted on Thursday that World War II would not have been winnable without American intervention. Speaking at the US Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Trump highlighted his decision to designate Victory Days for both World War I and World War II as national holidays in the United States.
Trump remarked that without US involvement, 'the world would be speaking German, maybe a little Japanese, too.' He emphasized that the United States played a more significant role in winning the war than other nations, particularly France, which, he noted, celebrates its victory in grand fashion.
'We won the war, and we were the only ones that didn't celebrate,' Trump commented, insisting that the United States' contributions to both World War I and II are often underrecognized. 'Others did help a lot, but nobody helped like us,' he added.
By instituting national holidays to honor these victories, Trump aims to formally acknowledge the United States' critical role in securing global freedom and ensuring these historic achievements receive proper recognition.
