White House Confirms Trump’s Excellent Health Amid Speculation

White House addresses concerns over Trump’s swollen legs and bruised hands, confirms benign condition and excellent health.

White House Addresses Trump’s Health After Speculation

The White House released a detailed update on President Donald Trump’s health Thursday, aiming to address speculation sparked by recent photographs showing swelling in his legs and bruising on his hands. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt provided new information during a briefing, citing both routine and precautionary medical evaluations conducted by the president’s healthcare team.

“I know that many in the media have been speculating about bruising on the president’s hand and also swelling in the president’s legs,” Leavitt said. “So in the effort of transparency, the president wanted me to share a note from his physician with all of you today.”

Leavitt explained that the swelling in Trump’s lower legs was evaluated using diagnostic vascular studies, including venous Doppler ultrasounds. These revealed chronic venous insufficiency—a benign and common condition in individuals over 70. “Importantly, there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease,” she emphasized. Additional lab work, including a comprehensive blood count and cardiac tests, returned normal results. An echocardiogram confirmed normal heart structure and function, with no signs of heart failure, renal impairment, or systemic illness.

The update followed a wave of public and media speculation after photos taken in July at the FIFA Club World Cup final in New Jersey showed Trump’s legs appearing swollen. Further questions arose this week when images surfaced showing bruising on his hands during a meeting with Bahrain’s Prime Minister.

Medical Findings: Benign Conditions, No Serious Concerns

Leavitt addressed concerns over the hand bruising, attributing it to frequent handshaking and routine aspirin use, which is part of Trump’s cardiovascular prevention regimen. “This is a well-known and benign side effect of aspirin therapy, and the president remains in excellent health, which I think all of you witness on a daily basis here,” she noted.

The White House physician, Navy Capt. Sean P. Barbabella, released an additional medical summary in April, stating Trump remains in “excellent health, exhibiting robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function.” The report documented the president’s vital statistics, listing his height at 75 inches, weight at 224 pounds, a resting heart rate of 62 beats per minute, blood pressure of 128/74 mmHg, pulse oximetry at 99%, and a temperature of 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit.

Leavitt reiterated that all test results confirmed Trump’s overall health status. “The president wanted me to share that note with all of you,” she said, underscoring the administration’s commitment to transparency regarding his health.

With this latest medical assessment, the White House aimed to quell rumors and reaffirm that President Trump remains fully capable and in excellent condition as he continues his official duties.
